WHY GASTROSHINE?
Horses continuously release acid into the stomach (gastric acid). The acidity is generally indicated by the pH value. The deeper this is, the more acid is present. The measured pH value of the stomach contents of horses varies from less than 2 to over 6, depending on whether your horse has just eaten or not. Horses that are exposed to many stressful situations or do not eat for long periods of time (competitions) have a significantly lower pH value (acidic) in the stomach than horses that are continuously fed. A low pH value can damage the stomach lining.
In addition to lignocellulose, pectins (apple), sea buckthorn and hemp oil, VetAthletics® GASTROSHINE also contains natural herbal extracts from chamomile flowers.
The fruits of the sea buckthorn(Hippophae rhamnoides) are known for their high vitamin C content, among other things.
